We are definitely aware that there are foods that contribute to the problem of belly fat but are there foods that will help you lose belly fat? After all, it only seems fair that this should be the case. Well, in one sense there are no foods that actively burn belly fat, however, there are foods that in their own way contribute to the cause of helping you to lose belly fat. They do so but providing you with proper nutrients which will in turn control cravings and others that will help you clean out your intestinal system or the junk that is there. So here are a few foods that you may want to add to your diet.

The first food has been a staple since your childhood: peanut butter (buy the natural peanut butter). Really you can use any seeds and nuts. The best nuts for your comsumption are walnuts (my favorite), almonds, pistachios, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and flax seeds. Why are nuts and seeds helpful? They provide you with a good dose of healthy fat and minerals. They also satisfy you and keep you full.

The second food is going to have you thinking that I am crazy. Dark chocolate is healthy for you. Just don’t go eating an overabundance of it. Dark chocolate contains a few stimulants that can be positive for fat burning. It is crammed with antioxidants which are great for your body and immune system. Make sure that you look for dark chocolates that contain at least 78% cocoa levels.

Cinnamon is also useful as an antioxidant. It has been shown in studies to help control your blood sugar. If your blood sugar is controlled then you will store less fat. However, it does you know good if you try to get a daily dose of cinnamon in a Cinnabon cinnamon roll. That will do more harm than good, although they are quite tasty.

If you like guacamole dip then the next food is right up your alley. Avocados are loaded with fiber and monounsaturated fats. Both of these things can help to reduce the belly fat that you have. However, it is best to eat the avocado by itself and not with a bunch of tortilla chips.

Yogurt is also beneficial to you if you get plain yogurt. However, you will have to avoid the majorities of yogurts sold in the store. They are chocked full of sugar and are not good for you at all. Greek yogurts (plain yogurt) has a good amount of probiotics that is not only good for your digestive system but also helpful in fighter the battle of the bulge. If you can’t take the plain yogurt taste then use and artificial sweetener or better yet are some fresh fruit to the yogurt to give it a great flavor.

I love to drink tea. However, I have spent most of my life just drinking the regular orange pekoe tea. I should have been drinking green tea. Many studies have linked green tea and fat burning together. It might also help you boost your metabolism.

Good healthy sources of protein are also effective at helping you to burn fat. You will actually burn off about a third of the protein calories just trying to digest the sources of protein. That is a major plus. It is also needed for muscle which is the greatest fat burning tool that you possess.

When the average person wants to lose weight they have a knee jerk reaction to cut their calories severely. They feel this is the right thing to do because others have done it and they are initially rewarded with temporary weight loss. But severely cutting your calories will backfire in short order and you will mess up your metabolism. There are two reasons why this is the case.

If you have ever cut your calories severely you are aware that the hunger cravings can be overwhelming. Anything and everything looks good to you. This happens because your body is getting the nutrients that it needs to function. So it sends signals to your brain telling you that you are as hungry as a horse. This will break the average individual. They will fall into the pattern that many before them have. They will eventually give in and overeat and then will gain even more weight than they initially lost. They gain weight so quickly because they have slowed their metabolism to a crawl.

7 DAY BELLY BLAST DIET

The other problem that you create for yourself is that a few of your hormones fall off the shelf and this triggers your body to begin to conserve calories. Your goal is to burn calories but severe calorie restriction actually causes the opposite response. It slows down your ability to burn calories in a move that is akin to self preservation.

As some hormones are decreasing, others are increasing greatly. Two of those are insulin and cortisol. Unfortunately when they begin to increase it results in fat storage. In the case of cortisol it specifically results in fat storage in the belly area. If you understand this you will see that cutting calories in a severe manner will actually cause you to gain weight.

But you can perform a little trick to confuse your body instead of simply continually cutting your calories. What you can do is to change the amount of calories that you consume every week. I am not simply talking about throwing in a cheat day or a cheat meal every now and then. This is referring to altering the number of calories that you consume for one solid week.

This method will help repair your metabolism and will confuse you body and trick it into burn more calories and in turn burn more body fat. In doing this, you will not be struck with tremendous hunger cravings that cause you to abandon your diet and it will keep your hormones in line so that you keep your fat burning capability running effectively.

Now you are going to want to perform this trick with the kinds of foods that contribute to burning belly fat. All calories are not created equal. You will want to avoid foods with a high glycemic index, eat foods high in fiber, eat more protein, etc. Rather than go into it here, it is easier if you read 7-Day Belly Blast Diet.

I want to address the issue of belly fat. It has become a real problem for many people. I take the train to work each day and am amazed as to how many people are overweight and are carrying way too much fat in their belly. We need to address a few factors relating to belly fat. There are very serious dangers to belly fat. You need to take them serious as well. But how do you know if you have too much belly fat and whether you should do something about it.

The Dangers of Belly Fat

Belly fat is considered to be the most dangerous kind of fat that you can have. It should be on the most wanted list that used to posted in post offices around the country. And in case you haven’t noticed it is not real appealing either. Why is this so? If you have too much internal fat (visceral fat) inside of your body it can press on all of your vital organs and cause a whole host of problems. A few of the problems that it might lead to is allergies, high blood pressure, joint pain, high cholesterol, headaches, anxiety, lack of energy, and the list goes on.

But these are minor problems compared to the severe problems that can be caused by excess belly fat. You could face diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, strokes, specific kinds of cancers, etc. On top of it all you have this very unappealing bulge in your gut. Belly fat is not something that you can ignore.

Do You Have Too Much Belly Fat?

Well if belly fat is so serious then we need to know if what we have is considered too much belly fat. So how do you know? A simple way to determine if you are at extreme risk is to measure your belly at its widest area. If you are a man and that measurement is 40 inches or larger you are at extreme risk. If you are a woman you are at extreme risk if that number is 35 or larger. This does not mean that you are not at risk if your measurements are smaller. You may very well be at risk but just not in the extreme risk category.

Another test to determine if you have too much belly fat is divide your height (in inches) by two and then measure your belly around the belly button. You will then compare the two measurements. If your belly measurement is at least half of your height then you are at risk. As an example, if you are six feet tall (72 inches) and your belly measurement is 36 inches or greater then you are at risk.

But if you are honest with yourself, you can simply stand in front of a mirror and know if you have too much belly fat. Or you can squeeze the sides of your belly. If you can grab a good ole handful of fat then you have too much belly fat. Stop trying to kid yourself otherwise.
